OC Register: Couple's anti-bullying awareness foundation recognizes students on a path to serving others

Aryo and Marjan Nikopour have channeled their anguish from the loss of their teenage son into a cause designed to bring more awareness and empower others to help prevent the same tragic outcomes for families and young people who have been bullied and shunned by their peers.
"I could have been very angry at the whole world, but I turned this anger into something positive. It came to me and my wife that we just need to save lives through small acts of kindness."

Aryo Nikopour was interviewed for The Scoop at UC Irvine and discussed the Nika Nikopour Foundation mandates which bring awareness, empowerment, and research to areas of autism and depression. The foundation has recently entered into an agreement with the University of California, Irvine to provide $16,000 in scholarships over five years. Mr. Nikopour strives to grow the foundation and continue supporting students that have interest in social action within their own communities.

Cal State Fullerton is proud to partner with the Nika Nikopour Foundation to advance the academic and career success of talented Titans who are positively impacting the lives of others. The Nika Nikopour Foundation recently made a five-year gift to Cal State Fullerton to provide scholarships to students who are committed to serving others. Already through the foundation's support, two CSUF students have benefitted, receiving scholarships that enabled them to continue forward on their path towards helping others.read more
